Climate

Climate Types
Bangladesh has a tropical climate, and can also be described as having a monsoon season. A monsoon season is when there is a shift in wind direction that brings a large amount of rain to a specific areas until the wind shifts again. Sense most of the country is flat plains, during monsoon season there is plenty of flooding throughout most of the country (see map below). The temperature also seems to stay fairly constant across the country(see map below).

Seasonality
The capitol of Bangladesh is Dhaka.  In Dhaka the annual temperature range is 9 degrees Celsius, and the annual precipitation range is 13.1 inches. In another city in Bangladesh, known as Chittagong, the annual temperature range is 9 degrees Celsius as well, and the annual precipitation range is 23.26 inches.  The annual temperature in Dhaka is 26 degrees Celsius, which is almost identical to the annual temperature of 25.1 degrees Celsius in Honolulu. Although the temperatures are almost the same, the annual precipitation is extremely different. In Dhaka the annual precipitation is 74 inches! Where in Honolulu the annual precipitation is only 22 inches. Dhaka rains over 50 inches more than Honolulu in a year. Bangladesh has little change in seasons when looking at the temperature range.  However, when examining the precipitation range, a rainy season, also known as a monsoon season, occurs between the months of June and October.
